Nvidia G-Sync Stronghold Crusader Crash

If you own a monitor with G-Sync functions and experience crashes with Stronghold. Please switch off the G-Sync function.

You can do this by following these instructions -

1. Open Nvidia Control Panel
2. Click on the + to expand the Display section
3. Select "Set up G-SYNC"
4. Uncheck this box to disable G-Sync.

How to transfer old savegames, maps and settings

Stronghold Crusader HD stores user maps, saves and settings in the Documents\Stronghold Crusader folder. If you have upgraded to Stronghold Crusader HD from an old version of Stronghold Crusader you will need to copy the maps, saves and settings from the Program Files\Firefly Studios\Stronghold Crusader folder (default location) to the Documents\Stronghold Crusader folder.

Savegames (.sav files)

Old Location: Program Files\Firefly Studios\Stronghold Crusader\saves
New Location: Documents\Stronghold Crusader\saves

Maps (custom .map files)

Old Location: Program Files\Firefly Studios\Stronghold Crusader\maps
New Location: Documents\Stronghold Crusader\maps

Settings (crusader.cfg)

Old Location: Program Files\Firefly Studios\Stronghold Crusader
New Location: Documents\Stronghold Crusader

Skirmish Trail (skmasters.dat)

Old Location: Program Files\Firefly Studios\Stronghold Crusader
New Location: Documents\Stronghold Crusader

NOTE: If you are using 64 bit Windows the default installation location is Program Files (x86)\Firefly Studios\Stronghold Crusader

What are the cheat codes for Stronghold Crusader?

To enable cheat mode hold [ctrl] TRIBLADE2002 at the main menu. Enter one of the codes below during gameplay to achieve the desired effect:

All missions unlocked [alt] + C
No resources required to build [alt] + K
100 popularity and gold [alt] + X

Unable to use chickens, trial crashes
If you are unable use chickens in the trail and/or the 2nd trial crashes. There is a workaround this problem to do this do the following -

1. In Steam disable Cloud saving - Settings, Cloud, Enable Steam Cloud synchronization for applications which support it
Restart Steam

2. Save your last missions played and exit the game.

3. Delete the crusader.cfg and crusaderExtreme.cfg files

4. Run the game and load in the save game.
